Why tulips from Holland and why from us?
ORIGIN OF TULIPS
Tulips are generally believed to have originated in what is now China, from where this beautiful and delicate flower gradually spread around the world. The first tulip bulbs arrived in Europe from Turkey and were subsequently planted in the royal gardens of Prague. However, they eventually found their refuge in nearby Holland, where they aroused great enthusiasm and gained widespread popularity.
CORRECT PLANTING LOCATION
Holland as such offers the best conditions for tulips, but even within this country there is a difference in where you get your bulbs from. Our bulbs come from the north of the Netherlands, which, unlike the southern regions, offers more fields in which to grow tulips. Ideally, there should be a six-year break before the field is used again. It is thus the northern areas of Holland, which are rich in fertile soil, that offer the best opportunities for growing tulips. Bulbs from these areas are more hardy and will guarantee you a really beautiful and hardy tulip once planted.
AUTHENTIC APPROACH
The bulbs we offer here come only from farmers we know personally and can guarantee their quality. We have been doing business in the north of Holland for several years, so we know the conditions here and offer bulbs that we have tried ourselves. Likewise, all the photos and videos you will find on the website are taken with our cameras and show exactly the tulips that have bloomed in our farmers' fields this year.
We offer many different types of tulips in a variety of colours, from which you can choose your favourite species to brighten up your bed with beautiful spring colours.
